General CPU Discussion / IBM POWER9+ ?

Because it will still take over a year for the POWER10 to materialize, I was wondering if IBM would participate in a POWER9+? A die-shrink of the current POWER9 to 7nm or 5nm.

Since the POWER9 is open-source, how difficult would it be for Raptor to do this or to order it from e.g. Samsung?
In the long run it would probably be advantageous in price and Raptor would be independent from IBM.

Hello everyone,

there is a Prime95-class stress testing utility called Firestarter. POWER9 support is planned. Unfortunately they don't have the resources for it at the moment. However, support via git is welcome.
