Sounds gnarly. Got a link? I'm curious.

Blackbird / Re: [amdgpu] [Fiji] Fedora 32 Linux kernel 5.7.x crashes
« on: November 16, 2020, 12:44:45 pm »

I'm thinking about exchanging my Talos II for two of the Talos II Lite motherboards.  Then I could use one as my regular workstation and the other as both a test system and a spare.

If I do that then it will be much easier for me to test new GPUs and drivers and anything else that requires reboots, X server restarts and potential crashes.

I recommend something like this (or at least a test and a production system). My Blackbird serves as test so that I don't whack my daily driver.

I assume it doesn't show up either as an option in Petitboot.

That should bite Firefox too, no?

I, personally, think about big-endian ppc64 a great deal, but the only systems with large distribution in that category are the G5s and they're quite old by current standards.

I like big-endian and I cannot lie but ppc64le is an easier lift.

Yes, I'm just using a regular USB sound dongle. The WX7100 Raptor sells can be coerced into providing audio but there was too much system bus noise bleeding through for me.

No, it's not going to work properly. The code doesn't currently account for that situation. I would be surprised if anything worked correctly on a 64K-paged system as written.

Excellent! Will that extend to RMAs as well?

Just so it's not all bad news here, I got my Blackbird on F33 last night, and will update the T2 tonight. The Blackbird seems to be working fine though it had a fairly vanilla install of F32.

I wonder if you have a package installed that is a prereq but can't be updated itself. Is it all Epiphany (GNOME Web) packages?

You can sometimes see this if somehow you managed to install a package twice (like if there was a crash and the transaction was partially committed). It should be safe to check this with something like `sudo dnf remove --duplicates`.

I can report that HighPoint  7505 NVMe controller works in the blackbird

Is it bootable?

It must not like my retractable one. I'll scare up a PS3 Sixaxis or something.

That works (I just changed it to -mcpu=power9). Now to figure out how to make it use a gamepad ...
