FYI, on the talos IRC is someone who is running a 18-core (190W) POWER9 on a Blackbird. And another one has overclocked a 8-core to 4.3GHz

Yes, but the problem is the limited PCIe lanes of the Sforza CPU. LaGrange has more, but is also more expensive for sure.

At the moment, I think that's only possible under emulation ... with qemu since the support of the Sam460 config seems to be good enough. I would like to try ... when I will have a Blackbird (not ordered yet and I don't know when it will happen).
Also AROS and MorphOS should work. They also supports 460ex boards.

Tl;dr: E-ATX is a shithole. If I wasn't sure about the space in the chassis, I'd choose SSI-EEB.
This would also mean that any E-ATX chassis would be compatible with the TalosII. But this is not the case.
When you ask manufacturers (regarding E-ATX) if the case is 12" x 13" compatible, some say no. For example PHANTEKS Eclipse P300.
And as far as I know Supermicro's form factor for server boards is EE-ATX, which TalosII is also not.

I only hope Power ISA’s future is more like DisplayPort than FireWire.
Oh yeah, I like IEEE1394 (in 2005 we produced FB6000 from Stryker, which was/is used for brain surgery. This board also used 1394b.) pretty much. Sadly, FW3200 never apeared in the mainstream. NuBus was also very cool back in that date.
