I see it similarly. However, I could become weak if the new system has certain advantages and is offered at a favorable price. There are a lot of things that could be improved on the current system.

I would say, Power11 is more like early 2026.
Availability of POWER9 was 2018 and Power10 2022.

I guess Solid Silicon has the related blobs of the Power10 reverse engineered. For this reason, they may not sell the CPU as Power10 and call it S1. I honestly don't see any company launching a new CPU in such a short time. The PowerISA 3.1 has only been around since 2020.

What kind of regressions?
I do have regressions. But these do not interfere further.

Why a W7600 and not a RX7600XT?

Is this only board and CPU or the whole system?

General CPU Discussion / Re: Power10 announcement from Raptor soon?

Didn't the Raptor Computing Twitter indicate that a Power10 was a huge CPU that would necessitate a single socket EATX motherboard? I want a Blackbird II: Free Software Boogaloo as much as anyone, but am tempted to think the person delivering the info has mixed something up... maybe a LibreSOC design at its heart, say?

Raptor said minimum size for Power10 would be ATX. I'm fine with that.
He mentioned also LibreSOC as a SBC. Availability 2024.

If the price can be achieved I am thrilled.
It seems like IBM / OpenPOWER are starting to get it finally.

It could be that IBM is willing to make a Power10 lite or something like that. Because it's called a "PowerISA 3.1" CPU.
Apart from "Raptor will announce a Power10 system".
