I doubt you will have the drivers available in a short time to be able to use big ships on Power ... For Navi 10/14 we had to wait a long time ...

Guys I found an answer from Fedora's team about Kernel 5.7/5.8 with AMD Navi 10 GPUs, they tell me that the problems related to AMD GPUs for our architecture, are not treated by AMD and so it must be one of us to find them, like Daniel did on Kernel 5.6. So if not before ours solve it, there is no way to fix the problem unfortunately. Great problem I would say at this point... We don't know when we will be able to get the bug fixed at this point...

Ok, but let me understand more specifically, I have to run that command described in the site, the first, the one where it says "example of launch line" and then what should I do?

Applications and Porting / Video Encoding

Hi everyone, for some time I have been testing high definition video on my Power system and I realized that I cannot go beyond the 1440P. From what I know, unfortunately on Power the video decoding is not optimized to the best and consequently, the performance is not what you can get on an X86 or ARM system. Whatever application you use or whatever browser you use, in the end you can't get regular and fluid 4K content unfortunately but only in 2K. My question at this point arises spontaneously, will we ever manage to have one day, the optimization we need to finally have a video decoding worthy of the name? It is not known ...

Hi Classic, yes I have also updated one of the 2 hard disks that I mounted on the Power system to Fedora 33. For now I have updated the one I use most for testing or the slowest mechanical one and everything went smoothly. The update was downloaded through the Fedora Software Market application and then I did all the installation and all this on Kernel 5.6.19 which unfortunately is currently the last one running on Navi 10 ...! I will test a few more days on this hardisk and then hopefully I will also update the Fedora SSD. The only thing I didn't understand and where are the animated wallpapers that change according to the time, I only see one background available in the predefined walpaper, I can't find anything else, maybe you have to download them from the official Fedora page ... In any case the thing that matters most to me now is to understand when it will be possible to reuse the new official Kernel with Navi 10 ...

Great job, so it was that browser that created all these conflicts for you in the end.  Perfect I'm happy for you, I too am a simple Power user but above all a great fan of this Power architecture that I believe is the best ever and has only been underestimated by the mass for various reasons.  I'll wait a few more days and then I'll upgrade to 33 too ...

Hi cchinicz, I hope you solve your problems soon because it is a pity not to be able to take advantage of the new Fedora update.
Hi TLE excuseme, but you also installed Fedora 33 if I'm not mistaken, what can you tell us, did you also encounter problems similar to those of your friend cchinicz, or did you go smoothly without problems? The kernel always has the usual bugs for me Navi right? Let us know your first impressions ...

Hi guys, sorry but how come you had to uninstall and reinstall this or that package, usually the old package is not always replaced with the new one when doing updates?  But not only on Linux I speak but in general.  It seems strange to me such a problem ...

I wrote to them again, I hope they read and do something, too long now we are plagued by this problem. From what I guess, even your Nano still suffers from the bug ... Today they released Fedora 33 as well apparently, in final version, I still haven't turned on the computer to see if it has arrived.

Hi everyone, I read that day 27 of this month and so next week, Fedora 33 will be released in the final version. Do you know anything if the problem of Navi 10 and Nano graphic cards on Kernel has been finally solved? I'm not seeing any news about it yet and in the meantime the Kernel has arrived at 5.8.16 and I'm still not downloading it until I have sure news about how it works...

Hi guys, I saw the video on you tube of the game running on our Power systems. But how do you download the finished game and try it?

Tried in this moment the Kernel 5.8.12, nothing to do, it doesn't work, same exact problem on Navi 10. I'm starting to think that if it continues this way this problem will never solve it is incredible...! TLE let us know if on NANO it works for you, for me on Navi 10 it doesn't work as usual....!
