Hi friend TLE, great job you are great. I too have updated the repositories and installed version 85 that you compiled and am using it right now. Thanks for your work for the Open Power community! After a long time we finally have an update of this great browser!

Hei Classic hi, yes up to that part I was there too, I just don't understand where to get the Tarball folder that should be used for the compilation ... I don't see it in this list ...

Guys sorry, is there a site without registration, where you can download the sources of the MAME for Power by chance? Thank you

Blackbird / Re: Raptor Support does not reply

Hi, I also recently opened a ticket via Email and after the first reply, I'm still waiting for the second one.  From what I know, they once wrote that they have a bit of a problem responding quickly but that with a little patience they will answer ... I'm waiting for an answer too ...

Guys, I am my friend,  ;) I gave him a hand to look out into the Power world and now he is also part of the family, see if you can help him. I personally do not use Blender but I think it is also the usual problem that we Power users have, namely software optimization for our platform. Then of course for sure I told him that as soon as he can you have to mount a nice graphics card to make everything run much better and then that to use Xorg, he needs to create the xorg.conf.d file with all the graphics card output that mounts.

MPC sorry but have you also tried with a Kernel compiled with 4K pages? I haven't been able to see in the output if this 5.11 you have tried is using or if you see from this output if they are enabled ...

Great as always, always thanks for your valuable work on our favorite platform!  Let us know how it goes!

Done, great report as always, thanks man! When it updates it'll mean we'll redo the change procedure, in the end it's only 2 numbers to change!

Hi friend TLE, I stopped using the Fedora team Kernel, I realized that by compiling it I can personally make it to measure for me, not only for the size of the pages but also for other components that they must leave by default and I do not need them and also I compile specific for Power 9 and not generic or Power 8 that even if it will not affect much in the end, always more specific and tailored to me. I have been using the 5.12 version for a long time now and I'm enjoying it very much so amen, it's ok then when they will decide to use different pages I will see but I think I will hardly go back at this point. Obviously a special thanks goes to you that made me understand how compilation worked in Fedora!   :)

Hi, yes of course it is in business, only it has more difficulty managing communication due to the negative period caused by Covid. Have patience they will answer ...

Back in the days of the Radeon 5700, we had a few problems before getting it to work properly on Power.  Initially the drivers present in the Kernel were not suitable and Tim Pearson of Raptor had to write a patch to be inserted in the Kernel in order to make the GPU work correctly.  Now I don't know what the situation is with these new Radeons but I don't know if you will be able to make them work on Power anytime soon ...

Hi Danial, from what I know, GPU sales are always independent and no one forces you to buy both CPUs and GPUs, so cards are bought on their own as always. The real problem is that they are not found and that those who have them take advantage of it to see them at a much higher cost than the real one, the real problem is this in this lousy period ...!

I am of the opinion that what the Power line lacks is an ATX form factor. I hope at this point that having already made the prototype of the Condor, Raptor will restart from that board to make a new motherboard with this form factor and I am sure that he will please everyone without distinction. The ATX format can guarantee multiple memory channels, multiple PCIe ports and everything you need for a single CPU sock, so the best of Talos but more compact and for a single microprocessor.

Great, too bad there are no more PCIe ports on the Blackbird otherwise I would have mounted it myself. In any case, I am also satisfied with the SATA devices at the end but I hope that the next Raptor motherboard is in ATX format deriving from the Condor, a card that is now done and over and that I do not think will be lost and that they can reuse for another processor. They will also be able to implement dedicated NVme ports if they want ...

Operating Systems and Porting / Re: Fedora custom kernel does not install
« on: February 27, 2021, 11:57:53 am »
Thanks to the help of the good TLE, I was finally able to compile and install a custom Kernel on Fedora. I had to install several new libraries and files to make this Kernel work, but at the end it seems that I succeeded. I used the wiki procedure since the universal one I could not make it work at the moment, the Kernel is still new and unripe, for sure it needs some testing but in any case, apart from a few interruptions of some processes, it seems to work pretty well. At this point I'd like to understand if it's possible to compile and install a stable version and not necessarily a new last version still under test. Downloading the sources according to the official procedure in fact, always tends to take the latest version...
