All the sources code for the build can be found in https://gitlab.com/chromium-ppc64le

Been following up with upstream progress on supporting ppc64le https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-runner/-/merge_requests/2868

Once the MR is completed, this would no doubt make life easier for devs to host gitlab pipeline on linux/ppc64le

Sadly the PR is not accepted because the project does not want to support PPC (at least at this stage). Oh well

It is more convenient for ppc64le linux users who want to use this CLI to publish release

AFAIK it is still broken with 5.13.x and 5.14.x as of July 2021

Good question, I don't have the answer. I would leave it to RaptorCS staffs

Good news folks

Thanks to the work by lloeki https://github.com/sqreen/ruby-libv8-node/issues/11, Discourse now works out-of-the-box on ppc64le

This proposal https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/PPC64LE_Float128_Transition is getting very old and no action has been done to roll this work forward. Wondering if anyone have more context on the delay?

Applications and Porting / Re: MAME for Power
« on: August 01, 2021, 08:12:20 pm »
Guys then, I found on the web this RPM source of mame that seems to be version 0.229 for PPC64le. But if i try to install it, it asks me besides some libraries, also the package called "mame-data.229 but i don't find this package anywhere. I found also the 197 version but I have the same problem, I can't find the package mame-data, that are the repositories that mame needs to be able to work. I've tried to run the command "dnf install mame-data" as a site recommends but it doesn't find anything unfortunately... I would like to understand at this point if this dependencies package exists or not... But if it doesn't exist, how come there is this source 229.rpm for our architecture?

The link where I found those sources: https://www.rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=mame%28ppc-64%29+data&submit=Cerca+...+&system=&arch=

I believe the RPM packages are built for OpenSUSE and the mame-data thus is only available in OpenSUSE registry. You would have to find that package and manually install it on Fedora. Lastly I am not even sure if the RPM for OpenSUSE would work with Fedora

Applications and Porting / [APP] CPUFetch now support POWER-based CPUs
« on: August 01, 2021, 06:17:57 pm »
Great thanks to the author for adding support for POWER-based CPUs. You could download and compile the program from GitHub https://github.com/Dr-Noob/cpufetch

Don't celebrate prematurely. Historically things could get regressed again in the next minor version. Hard to tell what's exactly going on if AMD don't reveal what's inside the black box binary blob

Hi TLE, you had to stop with the development of Chromium apparently, there are no more new versions since I'm seeing and I don't know where to get the sources after 87 to be able to compile it myself unfortunately ...

I've been fully occupied at work. I will try to find time to bump the version to latest. I am more than happy to teach you how to if you are interested.
