The "talk is cheap" thing they've got going is kind of nice, until it's not any more. Maintaining a joyful anticipation for Talos III/Blackbird II/S1 systems with no news whatsoever for more than 11 months (with the announced release date ending in less than two months) is probably not something people are going to do.

I find this whole Daniel Pocock vs. Debian and Debian vs. Daniel Pocock thing incredibly icky and prefer to avoid it altogether whenever I stumble across it because it's impossible to form an informed opinion at this stage. Of course, I want to believe that teams members of Debian are not a bunch of idiots, just as I want to believe that Daniel is not as despicable as he is described by some. I also know how it is to be on "bad side" of a character assassination campaign, so I'll definitely remain on the neutral side 
If anyone feels the need to add more drama to their life, I suggest you travel to Ukraine instead and help within your means. It put a lot of things into perspective for me.
Not everyone is a great communicator, but I firmly believe that even bad communication can be better than cutting each other's heads off... so I hope this will be resolved one way and not the other eventually.

The 3U IBM HSF weighs 637g versus 1220g of the NH-U12A.
I can totally see this with a sturdier custom mount that replaces the Noctua's which in turn will allow for a more even and higher pressure.

Disk I/O performance is affected by cache, so oflag should be used if you don't want that. That's --direct for hdparm and oflag=direct for dd.

When you contact them, provide your ports MAC addresses so can embed that in the image.

Yes, I'm honestly a little shocked. They were great about communicating with me, and I've been pleased as punch that a replacement came in, I moved everything to a newer case with better cable management, and it all just... came right back up.
Not related but CWCID; I also had an issue last week and the responses from Timothy came flying like raptors.

Probably not, we only have two sockets. I also don't believe that 16-socket machines are over-the-counter computers.
I thought these days most companies run their stuff on virtualized commodity hardware #strengthinnumbers.
