Title: CDE 2.4.0c runs quite okay on Fedora 35
Post by: tle on February 11, 2022, 08:04:45 am
Lots of libs to be installed. And a bit play around with headers symlink, the CDE 2.4.0c can be compiled successfully from git source

CDE is pretty useless to today standard. However I really dig the retro look

I have a nostalgic fondness for CDE going way back - the Xfce theme usually gets me further than CDE itself on modern monitors, but I'm happy to see this regardless. Good work.

I wonder if NsCDE might be a better fit. There should be a Fedora package for it though I've yet to try it myself (I get my CDE fix on my HP-UX and Solaris systems).

I reckon XFCE is the best fit for users who prefer CDE-style DE.
