It looks like retailers are building combined Ryzen + RX 6800 XT systems with OEM parts and you have to buy the whole system instead of buying the GPU alone.
Has anybody else noticed this trend or been able to get the GPU standalone for a POWER9 system?

Hi Danial, from what I know, GPU sales are always independent and no one forces you to buy both CPUs and GPUs, so cards are bought on their own as always. The real problem is that they are not found and that those who have them take advantage of it to see them at a much higher cost than the real one, the real problem is this in this lousy period ...!

The availability in Germany is limited (https://geizhals.de/?cat=gra16_512&xf=6680_C+11+-+RDNA+2&asuch=&bpmin=&bpmax=&v=l&hloc=de&plz=&dist=&sort=p&bl1_id=30) and of course overpriced.

Good grief, that's exorbitant.

Well I managed to get a 6900 XT but failed to get it running on Fedora 34

Back in the days of the Radeon 5700, we had a few problems before getting it to work properly on Power. Initially the drivers present in the Kernel were not suitable and Tim Pearson of Raptor had to write a patch to be inserted in the Kernel in order to make the GPU work correctly. Now I don't know what the situation is with these new Radeons but I don't know if you will be able to make them work on Power anytime soon ...
