When did Radeon start working on 64k pages?
-
What do you mean? This WX7100 is on a 64K page system (Fedora 35).
-
For some time the only way my WX7100 and Radeon 7750 would work on my Talos II is if I changed the kernel to use 4k pagesize.
I had been using the AST chip for some time now, then last week I installed the 7750 and it worked. :o ???
I don't know what, but something changed.
-
AFAIK, the 7750 doesn't use amdgpu but the Radeon driver. The pagesize issue only affects amdgpu in combination with Navi. Which should already be fixed, too.

Yes, in fact, strange Xlinder that you did not know about this fix because it is already some time that we talked in the forum, that the problem of the AMD gpu related to the size of the pages, has been solved with the Kernel 5.11.12. They made a fix in the drivers and from that moment the 64K pages started working again and in fact now I am using the 5.15.30 Kernel on Debian with 64K pages and not 4K.

I guess it's time for me to wakeup and smell the coffee :-[

As the topic is about Radeon HD and 64KB page size, I confirm that I have no problem with Radeon HD6570 with a default Debian 11 installation (updated to 11.5, with kernel 5.10.140). To get the display, I had to disable on-board VGA output (with a jumper cap on J10109) and to add "modprobe.blacklist=ast" to the boot commandline. In dmesg, I have the message "radeon: MSI limited to 32-bit".

The 64K bug is fixed since 5.10.101. It's also written on the wiki.
