Yes, I've never run any commands on the BMC as any user other than root. Not ideal, but I'm not in there much either.

I'll get around to adding links to the Talospace "Tonight's game on OpenPOWER" at some point, but here they are if someone else is bored:

I just built Bugdom, though it looks like you've already listed that. I loved it on my Power Mac 7300.

I agree with the comments on that thread that skipping initialization is probably the wrong approach. The fact it works is likely a weird side effect. But great work on localizing where the problem is and I don't think it will take them long to find a better solution.

This should be in /usr/sbin/mapper. Is it not there?

Code: [Select]
root@tim-bmc:~# ls -l `which mapper`
-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root         11272 Feb 19  2020 /usr/sbin/mapper

Maybe the problem is a mismatch between the struct definitions if it (or an equivalent object) is in different locations.

That seems a little odd. Literally just adding that bool to that struct makes it go crazy?

I compiled gzdoom a while back for stereoscopic support and that works, but haven't built any recent versions.

dxx-rebirth works fine. I played Descent II non-stop for awhile.

Yes, there's no code generator for ppc64 in AngelScript. Someone(tm) would need to write it.

This is an older kernel. When I updated to F35, I got 5.14.18 to start with, and that's been fine with my WX7100 (T2). The only difference between my system and yours is that I use the HPT MMU instead of radix, but that shouldn't cause this problem. Are you able to update the kernel at all?

I think that would be mostly just a second head. What we really need is a libre GPU, and the AST chips are just framebuffers. llvmpipe isn't a lot of fun on those.

What Fedora release were you on when you ran it? Also assuming you ran that on your Talos with GPU and not the Blackbird w/ AST from your articles.

I want to say 33, but I don't honestly remember exactly. Yes, the T2 with the WX7100; I haven't run it on the Blackbird.

Seriously, one of the BSDs would be a better choice (I'd personally use NetBSD but OpenBSD would also work). I run NetBSD on a G4 Mac mini and even a Macintosh IIci.

What do you mean? This WX7100 is on a 64K page system (Fedora 35).

Tremulous works, at least single-player; it's even an RPM for Fedora.

Not that I know of, but Libre-SoC might eventually.
