You don't need the maximum spped. The fans are rotating as fast as needed ...

Off course will a patched Kernel work, if you do the patch ... I'm talking about the stock Kernels. And Ubuntu used the 5.4 Kernel, because it was the up-to-date Kernel at that time, I guess.

And for Ubuntu (as for any other POWER distribution): Navi support is broken.

Warm air rises to the top.

Push-pull configuration:
Front/Bottom: Pushes air to mainboard
Top/back: Pulls the air away from the mainbaord

If you have a 3U heatsink, then everything is fine. The fan rotates as fast as it needs to. An external fan is nonsense. It's useless.

Very odd. Do you have a 2U or 3U heatsink?

Why do you need a faster fan? My fans often spin at the same speed (100RPM). Sometimes one spins faster (200 or 300RPM).
The fan speed is self-regulating. It is a PWM signal.

The fan curve when and how fast the fans are rotating can be adjusted. But for that you have to adjust the curve and then recompile the firmware.

You have three fan connectors on your Blackbird.
Fan1: CPU
Fan2: Rear
Fan3: Front

In total, I have installed six fans in my case.
You can't adjust the fan speed by yourself.

Great. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly.
BTW, the helpdesk hasn't answered anyone since early March. But nothing to worry.

Thanks!

Has the motherboard arrived at RaptorCS yet? Did you get feedback what was defective and why?
I'm curious how long it will take until Raptor can ship again.
