EDIT: nevermind, there aren't vulkan drivers for openSUSE ppc64le

The library is installed, it worked perfectly under x86. however any applications with a vulkan renderer just crash, basically saying there isn't vulkan available.

General Discussion / 3.5 mic and dac/amp don't work under opensuse leap
« on: January 30, 2023, 07:55:53 pm »
so i have a fiio k5 pro and a typical microphone that worked just fine under opensuse tumbleweed and fedora 37, however they don't work under opensuse leap 15.4 at all (they work under leap15.4 amd64 just fine)

any guesses to where i can start? dmesg shows them showing up just fine.

I dont have a jumper on hand atm unless i want to pull one off the board which im not going to do. This is what i got when i tried running startx under leap.

I went back to leap after i determined it wasn't a distro specific issue.

worse case scenario, i can flash amd firmware and use the jumper, correct? Would've really preferred not to do that but i'm at a loss at this point

If i'm unable to get the gpu to work via this method would i be able to use a jumper on the AST and have the gpu function without flashing firmware?

I tried that, also tried without an hdmi connected at all and i'd get a blank black screen when the system would switch to DP outpout.

well, i installed fedora 37, and i'm still getting the same-ish issue of it just hanging at boot. not sure if its my gpu (amd vega 64) or theres something i'm messing up, but i add those commands and update grub so I'm not sure.

fwupdmgr doesnt appear to list the onboard NICs. I see them mentioned during boot however..

the motherboard rev is 1.01

i tried the two dual ethernet ports, not the BMC port. they show as detected upon bootup. i dont know what the firmware is but it should be recent as this was a board from the latest shipment. I haven't attempted any BMC access as i do not have a crossover cable currently.
