Yet another release from Fedora! This time is actually a great one. GNOME feels swiftly smooth, things continue to work.

So what's new?

• GCC / glibc: GCC 16.2.1 / glibc 2.44
• LLVM: Version 23.1.1
• Databases: MySQL 9.7 and MariaDB 12.3 are now default
• Podman: Version 6.1.x
• oo7 secret service
• kmscon - finally enabled by default
• GNOME 51
• KDE plasma 6.7 / 6.8 ( I have not tested this so unsure if it good or not )

What's the best procedure for migrating to 45 from 43 on Power? Just run

Code Select Expand

sudo dnf upgrade --refresh

Then issue a reboot, then hope back in and pass

Code Select Expand

sudo dnf system-upgrade download --releasever=45

and watch it go? I'm running a discrete GPU and want to make sure there isn't some firmware loading hangup in the reboot I need to watch out for.

Please do NOT bump directly from 43 to 45

Instead, please bump to 44 first then 45.
