problems uploading photos

Guys, I'm having a problem uploading photos. Even though I reduce the file size to less than 1MB, I use files around 500 KB or so. The site keeps telling me they're too big and won't let me upload them, even though I've always used files of that size. I've even tried smaller files than 500 KB, but the result is always the same. Can anyone tell me what's going on? I've tried contacting the site administrator twice, but I've never received a response.

It is possible that the "file too big" error refers to the resolution of the picture and not its size on disk. But usually, the error message should contain details about the max resolution supported.
Depending on the type of content (regular picture or avatar), you may be able to guess based on common or conservative values 🤔
