Crackling sound with Kernel 5.6.x

(1/3) > >>

MPC7500:
I have a problem with kernel 5.6 and sound output over a Navi RX 5500 GPU. It's a rustle/ distortion gets worse with echo. The whole thing disappears then becomes and then reappears. Sounds similar to speech-dispatcher being activated. But I have already deleted this one.

With kernel 5.4 this problem does not occur. Is the problem perhaps already known or how can I localize the problem?

dmesg output
Kernel 5.4: https://pastebin.com/H5F3VK3W
Kernel 5.6: https://pastebin.com/gnTv63NG

I can hear the system bus sometimes leak into my audio with my WX7100 (5.6 kernel). Is this something different or louder?

MPC7500:
No. I think it's different. Two mp3s attached.

The quiet noise at the beginning comes from the recording. The slight crackling is like on an LP and the Bad.mp3 recording is totally distorted. Unfortunately I cannot reproduce it or provoke it. With Kernel 5.4 the sound is crystal clear.

ClassicHasClass:
Wow, that is pretty bad. I haven't encountered this myself, though (either with a USB sound dongle or with HDMI audio from the WX7100), so maybe it's something with amdgpu. What's your kernel command line?

MPC7500:
Hi,

nothing special.
--- Code: ---GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="rd.lvm.lv=fedora/root rd.lvm.lv=fedora/swap rhgb quiet"
--- End code ---

See link to the Kernel 5.4 alsa-info.sh output and Kernel 5.6 alsa-info.sh output

The only difference that I noticed while flying over it was:
Kernel 5.4:

--- Code: ---0 [Generic ]: HDA-Intel - HD-Audio Generic
                      HD-Audio Generic at 0x600c0000a0000 irq 22
--- End code ---

Kernel 5.6:

--- Code: ---0 [HDMI ]: HDA Intel - HDA ATI HDMI
HDA ATI HDMI at 0x600c0000a0000 irq 23
--- End code ---

Can a difference in IRQ cause this problem?
